- Here at Schooner, we have containers of fresh, fruit flavored ice water available daily.
- Visit our Camden & Castine coffee bar areas. Hydration is also important during the winter months.

๐งโ๐คโ๐ง Schooner Tenant Profiles
Note: Some of our profiles do not have photographs included – it all depends on a tenant’s preference.
Dennis & Dru Breton, apt. 501 The Breton’s come to Schooner from the town of Rumford. They decided to move because their house was too much to take care of. They have one son. Dennis was a super at the Rumford paper mill and Dru was a surgical tech. Dennis enjoyed skiing and fishing, while Dru’s interests were in the Historical Society. They are friendly folks and love people!
Wanda Orino, apt. 334 Wanda also comes to us from Rumford. Her husband passed away 6 years ago. She has 4 children, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Moving to Schooner was her decision because her house was too big and lonely. Before retirement, she was a nurse and then a homemaker; her husband was a dentist. Her favorite hobby is reading. She loves people, so say hi when you see her!
Lou LePage, stu. C101 Lou is a lifelong resident of Auburn. He was on the Auburn Fire Department for around 25 years. He enjoys fishing and is looking forward to the activities and good food at Schooner.
Tom Jewett, apt. 629 Tom is a relation of our own Dianne Day. He is moving from his house in Vienna, near Belgrade Lakes. Tom is a former IT specialist and enjoys fishing.
Bill Dickie, stu. 116 Bill is from the Lewiston area. He owned his own house painting business for many decades before retiring almost 15 years ago. His adult children, Troy and Colleen, live locally with their families. Troy’s mother-in-law lived at Schooner for many years, and Colleen’s daughter worked here as well. Bill is relieved to move to a place offering 3 good meals a day, security, and companionship.
Edward Lechner, stu. C108 Edward is the former owner of Selby Shoes in South Portland, a business his son Jeff now owns. He is a social person who is interested in activities like bible study, music, and outings.
Tom Bauer, apt. 426 Tom moved here from his native Chicago, where he was a pharmacist before retiring. Tom is a man of great faith and is very involved with volunteering at the Prince of Peace Parish.
๐ Meet Our New Transportation Driver!
We are delighted to officially introduce our new Schooner transportation driver, Mr. Steve Lessard.
Steve’s role is the Monday through Friday fulltime driver. If you haven’t met him already, please welcome him to our community! (Photo caption: Steve & our Resident Services Director, Shannon.)
