📅 The Season has Begun!
While we are near the end of another season of temperamental spring weather, summer is on our minds and will soon be on the horizon!. Speaking of summer, the plans for our popular summer barbeques have been put in place.
Summer BBQ Schedule
Below are the scheduled dates and themes in order to help you plan ahead:
- June 11th: Hawaiian Luau
- July 9th: Americana Red White and Blue
- August 13th: Seafood Outing
- September 10th: Oktoberfest
So Save the Date and make sure you don’t miss out on one of these highlighted events. Before you know it, summer will be knocking at the door letting us know that it’s time to take the party outside!.
Our first outdoor get-together of the season, the Hawaiian Luau barbeque, scheduled for June 11th, is just around the corner. We look forward to seeing you there, dressed in bright and colorful Hawaiian attire!.

Schooner Tenant Profiles

Zelmon Fuller, apt. 627
- Zel is originally from Jay.
- His family owned a feed store in the area for many years.
- He is a former HS shop teacher.
- He has spent the last 20 or so years between Bradenton, FL and Maine.
- Zel has three adult kids who live all over the country, one of whom lives in Cape Elizabeth, and local grandchildren in L/A.
- He has a camp in Monmouth and plans to spend part of his time there during summer months.
Harry Fardy, apt. 416
- Harry previously lived outside of Boston.
- He was an engineer at Raytheon for many years.
- He is a former Marine and Korean War Veteran.
- Harry is interested in Veteran focused activities and meeting other Vets.
- Harry’s daughter Nancy lives in Turner and is very excited to have her Dad so close by!.
Pauline Gauthier, studio B101
- Pauline is a lifelong resident of L/A.
- She moved from the Esplanade where she had lived for the last few years.
- Pauline is also a relation of Moe Guay!.
- Pauline enjoys social activities, church services, games and bingo.
🏆 Lifetime Achievement Award
- Congratulations to our own Rita Melendy on her well-deserved “Remember ME” Lifetime Achievement Award from the Maine Health Care Association!.
- She was one of the many people across Maine to be honored at the annual ceremony on May 22nd.
- Rita was awarded for volunteerism.
- She served on boards including the Maine Association of Retirees, Hospice Council of Maine, and the NE Health Association.
- Her achievements throughout her life have been many, which makes her so deserving of this award!.

🎂 Happy 3rd Birthday
- A thank you to one of our wonderful receptionists, Jan, for sharing this beautiful picture of her great niece Alexandria, on her third birthday.

🐾 “Name the Kitten” Results
Winning name
- In regard to last month’s article for choosing a name for Sue’s Siamese kitten, we have success!.
- Many names were submitted.
- The chosen name was given by one of our wonderful tenants, Martha Bania!.
- The name is: Gracie.
