Our 25th Anniversary celebration “Give Back” for the month of May involved a very special event-wreaths were placed at the Veterans Memorial in Lewiston. It was a proud moment for all, as a group of Schooner residents (all Military Veterans) gathered at the monuments and placed wreaths at the base of the stones. In celebration of Memorial Day, we owe all veterans a great debt of gratitude for their service.

Did you know that we have yet another artist living in our community? Searsport resident, Ellen Magnussen, born in Telemark, Norway, has been drawing and painting for a big part of her life. Ellen studied at Rhode Island School of design in the late 70’s. Her long list of accomplishments include landscapes and scenery, details and vistas in watercolor. Ellen received recognition in 1960 for a drawing of her 2 year old son and won an award at an art show in Canada. Her work is hanging in many private collections and can be seen at “Christmas Classics” in Rangeley. Congratulations go out to Ellen for such a wonderful achievement!

Please join us in congratulating Agata Moszny, our May Employee of the Month. Agata does housekeeping, mainly in our Rockport building, and other areas when needed. She was chosen for taking the time to alter her cleaning schedule to accommodate the needs of a resident who had an appointment which could not be changed. Well done Agata!

Our eagerly awaited, three day trip to Cape Cod in May was a great success! The weather was warm and cooperated nicely during the entire time. Our Resident Services Director, Mark Prevost and his wife Lisa were fantastic guides. Schooner Estates is the place to be for worry free and vibrant living!
