Schooner Memory Care is a new, state-of-the-art memory care community with three 22-bed neighborhoods that are specifically designed with elements that not only supports but enhances life for people living with memory impairment.
Located on the Schooner Estates Senior Living Community campus, the 48,000 square foot building is nestled within 8 scenic acres and includes a circadian lighting system designed to mimic the natural light of day, with custom apartment door colors, finish and design features that have been carefully incorporated to help create a positive and engaging environment that will empower residents to live as independently as possible. Each of the three neighborhoods has secured, outside garden spaces. The Peaks activity room and the Multi-purpose room are equipped with hearing loop systems built in that allow residents to hear what is going on directly through their hearing aids.
Our Memory Care program is all-inclusive, providing all necessary assistance, supervision, medication management, nutrition and socialization to our residents. The memory care neighborhoods are staffed twenty-four hours a day by trained professionals who work exclusively with these residents, and who quickly become familiar and comforting to them.

Schooner Memory Care is an Assisted Living-level program providing assistance with activities of daily living as well as socialization, nutrition and round-the-clock supervision to those with cognitive challenges. This intimate, family-style program involves group activities for up to ten residents in a secured environment.
Memory Care is the best option for those who have a dementia diagnosis or other cognitive challenges that have begun to interfere with their ability to live independently. Our program welcomes those who need assistance with activities of daily living such as dressing, grooming, and medication management. Because our Memory Care program is at an Assisted Living level, it is not appropriate for those who have high-level medical needs, major mobility problems, or aggressive tendencies.

Our Memory Care Studios are ideally-sized for keeping all of one's personal mementos close at hand. They have private bathrooms, ample storage, and abundant natural light. The entrance to our Memory Care community within Schooner Estates opens freely from the outside, and requires a code to exit. This provides security for our residents who may become confused and attempt to leave. Beyond the Memory Care area, the outside doors at Schooner Estates require a key for entry, though may be opened freely from the inside. The exception is the door to the front desk area, which is unlocked during the hours that the front desk is staffed, from 8 AM to 6PM, seven days a week.
